Dear Patriot Families,
How did the time fly by so quickly to already have us in November and ready to enter the holiday season?
One of my favorite experiences over the holidays in a high school involves the performing arts programs that showcase the amazing talents of our students.
This week kicks off our fall play under the direction of Mr. Sal Giordano who will feature Peter and the StarCatcher with his students. In addition, we have a number of winter performances in December highlighting our band, orchestra, and music programs. (see schedule below)
I hope to see you at some of these events.

Shout OUT State Champs
Our amazing Boys Cross County Team captured the Virginia State Championship this past weekend at Great Meadows. Such an amazing group of student athletes who earned this title. Thank you to the coaches Adrian Lorenzoni, Brain Nagel, Chris Cantone, Mr. Noble and Mr. Resnick.
Also congrats to the girls cross country squad under the direction of Cathy Coffman for winning the Regional Championship and coming in 3rd for the states.
From The Mountain Bike Team
We had the last mountain bike race of the fall season down in Bedford this past Saturday. It was a cold but beautiful day and all of the riders put their best efforts into this final race. We had two podium finishers – Eli Shifflett took 2nd in the JV boys’ division and Mason Allen was 4th in the Freshman boys’ division. Jonas Collins had another excellent varsity race and was right off the podium in 6th place. For the season, Eli Shifflett won the overall JV boys’ division, Luke Casteen was 5th in the overall Sophomore boys’ division, and Mason Allen was 4th in the overall Freshman boys’ division. We could not be more excited for all of our riders and their achievements on the course!
Congrats to AHS Junior Julia Nagel
