Dear Families and Staff,
I hope your summer break has been filled with rest, relaxation, and a time to recharge. I am anticipating a wonderful school year filled with a variety of opportunities for our students to find success. As I prepare for my second year as the principal at Albemarle High School (AHS), I am eager for the return of our students. Serving as your principal has been one of the highlights of my career. I know this is going to be a wonderful school year!
Teachers and staff are preparing for the start of the year. Many of our teachers and administrators have engaged in meaningful professional development designed to improve the quality of instruction our students will receive. AHS administration is currently working hard to prepare for the new school year by completing the master schedule and teacher assignments.
Construction began immediately at the end of the 17-18 school year for our modernization project located on the second floor of AHS. We are excited for the new learning environment we will offer our students starting this year. This structural change to these existing classrooms will allow students and teachers to work collaboratively in a space that will promote 21st century learning objectives. We are working hard to transform how we teach and learn at AHS.
As we move forward
Each new school year brings a level of excitement and energy that is hard to duplicate. I am extremely proud of our students and staff. AHS is a wonderful school that offers many opportunities for success. We will continue to make each student a priority as we embrace the challenges and possibilities of our important mission.
Please have a wonderful school year!
