Dear Cale Families,
The start of the school year is always an exciting time of the year. It allows an opportunity to help students transition back into school routines and connect with each other. The staff at Cale is prepared to make this year amazing with a commitment to help each child reach their highest potential. We are dedicated to creating classrooms where it is common to walk in and see students engaged in learning activities that range from singing and dancing, painting, building catapults, creating marble mazes, solving complex math problems, designing coding programs, reading great books, writing short stories, speaking two languages, making videos, and doing science experiments.
At the very beginning of the school year, we work to build a strong foundation of a learning community where students can thrive. Students participate in morning meetings every day to set the tone for respectful learning and establish a climate of trust. Students tell us how much they love morning meetings all the time. When asked why, the response is almost always the same, “because it makes us feel welcome”. This sense of community goes beyond the individual classroom and into the entire school. . Our Cale families and sense of togetherness makes us special and we are looking forward to future events that bring our families together to celebrate learning in our school. This strong learning community gives children opportunities to thrive in the classroom.
As we interact with students daily, they share their learning experiences, their dreams, their funny stories and sometimes their problems, we realize how lucky we are to be a part of watching them grow and look forward to our school year with them.
